East Baton Rouge Laboratory Academy was one of East Baton Rouge Parish School System's first two autonomous schools, which have more flexibility than a traditional school but less than a charter school[1], opened in August 2007.[2] The school's first graduating class will be in 2011.
EBR Lab offers a rigorous college preparatory curriculum.
Student groups and activities at EBR Lab include anime club, dance, poetry, Junior Classical League, math club, Spanish club, and yearbook.
The school's athletic program will begin with junior varsity sports in fall 2009 and add varsity sports in fall 2010, as Louisiana High School Athletic Association rules allow varsity sports only at four-year high schools.[2]
